The sixth annual international art competition START21ART 2026/2027

Cross the horizons with us. The sixth year of the START21ART competition opens a new chapter — in addition to students from art schools in Slovakia and the Czech Republic, we will also welcome young talents from Poland and Hungary to the competition. The theme of the year is "Horizons" – the courage to step into the unknown.

How to participate

Each secondary school with at least 50 % art departments, can nominate up to 10 % of the total number of its final-year students, who will be given the unique opportunity to create an original artistic work on the theme "Horizons". The competition works will be evaluated by a renowned jury consisting of leading Slovak, Czech, Polish artists and Hungarian representatives of the participating schools.

What can you get?

The top three students from each country will be awarded €630, €420 and €210. For the best work from each country, the nominated school will receive €2,121. In the final of the competition, the first three will receive €3,000, €2,000 and €1,000, and the winner of the online vote €210.
